Construction Site Assistant (Carpenter)

About the role

Novacom is seeking a hands‑on Construction Site Assistant / Carpenter to support the Site Superintendent on a new ground‑up McDonald’s restaurant in Penticton, BC. This fixed‑term position runs from early August to the end of October 2026 and involves keeping the site organized, safe, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Site Superintendent with daily site operations to ensure smooth progress.
• Perform carpentry and general handyman tasks such as building hoarding, formwork, and backing.
• Maintain site cleanliness and organization for efficient trade access.
• Coordinate with trades, confirming readiness and helping keep the schedule on track.
• Conduct daily hazard assessments, site inspections, and safety documentation under the COR Safety Program.
• Capture progress photos and support daily logs in Procore.
• Address and close out any deficiencies at project completion.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, energetic, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to build solid relationships with trade partners and co‑workers.
• Dependable punctuality – on site before trades arrive and staying after they leave.

Required skills

• Carpentry (including hoarding, formwork, and general hand‑tool work).
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Procore for daily logs and documentation.
