Construction Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Senior Construction Project Manager to lead complex capital improvement projects in the Ottawa region. The successful candidate will oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate bid specifications, architectural drawings, and site conditions to prepare competitive tender documents.
• Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, aligning with client expectations.
• Develop detailed quantity take‑offs, analyze labor, material, and equipment costs, and coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records for accurate future estimates.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and tender specifications.
• Procure materials, manage inventory, and oversee timely delivery to sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, document progress, and enforce safety protocols.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, change orders, and progress reports.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong communication, strategic planning, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships for business development.
• Experience overseeing full project lifecycles, from budgeting to resource allocation.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of construction estimating practices (quantity take‑offs, cost analysis, bid preparation).
• Proficiency with estimating software or equivalent tools.
• Deep understanding of construction project management methodologies.
• In‑depth knowledge of local and national building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
