Construction Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the on‑site delivery of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Project Implementation team, you will coordinate with owners, engineers, EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance while keeping the project on schedule and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site planning meetings covering construction, equipment installation and commissioning.
• Oversee contractors and workers to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, procedures and codes.
• Manage RFI and NCR processes to resolve construction issues.
• Track daily progress against milestones and drive recovery plans when needed.
• Evaluate subcontractor change orders and monitor schedules, invoices and submittals.

Required profile

• Registered building practitioner.
• 5+ years of experience in construction/EPC, preferably on utility‑scale renewable energy projects.
• Strong risk‑management, negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering construction projects both independently and within a team.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel and be based on‑site for the construction period.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
