Concrete Finisher

About the role

Rucon Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join its Edmonton team. You will work on a variety of commercial and residential projects, ensuring that freshly poured concrete meets the highest standards of quality and finish.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement before pouring.
• Fill hollows and remove imperfections on freshly poured concrete.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and achieve uniform density.
• Level the top surface according to grade and depth specifications.
• Apply the desired finish using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Repair, resurface, or replace worn or damaged concrete sections.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of concrete finishing experience.
• Physically demanding work: bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in dusty, noisy, outdoor urban environments.
• Team player who can follow safety protocols.

Required skills

• Operation of power vibrators.
• Concrete leveling techniques.
• Use of hand and power tools for concrete finishing.
• Application of hardening and sealing compounds.
