Compressor Engineer – Automation Technology

About the role

Detechtion Technologies is seeking a Compressor Engineer to join its innovative automation team. You will work on cutting‑edge compressor technology, supporting both software tools and field operations to improve energy and industrial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in compressor theory, operation, and optimization.
• Provide engineering and field support, including creating loading curves, proposals, studies, and startup packages.
• Maintain client databases, hardware records, and manage data flow into the Enalysis® platform.
• Analyze Enalysis® reports with Engineering Account Managers to identify efficiency and maintenance opportunities.
• Conduct field audits, train personnel, and build lasting relationships with platform users.
• Collaborate closely with Support Services and Sales teams to ensure project alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Petroleum preferred).
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
• Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and resolve issues efficiently.

Required skills

• Compressor theory, operation, and optimization.
• Experience with web‑based simulation software and the Enalysis® platform.
• Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) knowledge.
• Familiarity with PLCs and annunciators (Murphy or Altronic preferred).
• Natural gas compression or data analytics experience (a plus).
