Environment, Health & Safety Intern – Winter 2027

About the role

ABB is looking for an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) intern for its Québec site, working in the EHS department and reporting directly to the EHS Manager. The intern spends much of their time in production areas and administrative zones supporting internal clients in developing best safety practices, and works closely with the Infrastructure department. Guidance and coaching are provided according to the intern's level of expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Act as support in EHS matters and support departments in implementing the EHS program, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify hazards and risks and prevent injuries, spills or other EHS impacts
• Take part in the task safety analysis process
• Compile and report health and safety data for corporate reporting
• Assist in managing chemical products and support employees with ergonomic-related issues
• Help managers, supervisors and staff identify and implement corrective measures after unsafe behaviours are identified
• Develop and distribute communications on EHS-related topics

Required profile

• Two years of study in a university program in health and safety, industrial relations, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical program
• Excellent command of French and English
• Full-time on-site work with occasional authorized work-from-home days

Required skills

• Skills in industrial hygiene and/or ergonomics
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills, good communication skills and a client-focused approach
