Component Engineer – Hybrid (Mississauga)

About the role

We are looking for a Component Engineer to support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of electrical and electro‑mechanical components used in product development. The role is contract‑based, hybrid, and based in Mississauga, Ontario. You will work alongside senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure component quality, reliability, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Document component and subassembly selections to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
• Review component specifications, design plans, and engineering tolerances.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to define component requirements and support design modifications.
• Analyze components and subassemblies under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist in evaluating suppliers for quality, availability, and long‑term viability.
• Support engineering teams in identifying optimal component solutions for product designs.
• Follow established engineering practices, standards, and procedures.
• Provide recommendations on suppliers, methods, and technical solutions to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in an engineering environment working with electrical and electro‑mechanical components.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of electrical and electro‑mechanical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of electrical and electro‑mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices.
