Communications Assistant B (Scribe – Proficient in Latin and English)

About the role

The Communications Assistant B (Scribe) supports students with exam accommodations by accurately transcribing their dictated answers and, when required, reading them back for verification. This role ensures exam integrity while providing neutral, confidential assistance during examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Write verbatim the student’s dictated answers, either by hand or typing.
• Read back transcribed responses to the student upon request.
• Produce diagrams, maps, or symbols as instructed by the student.
• Escort students to facilities (e.g., washrooms) during the exam.
• Maintain a tidy exam room and prepare it for subsequent sessions.
• Report any disturbances, cheating, or incidents to the appropriate authority.
• Adhere to exam regulations and ensure confidentiality at all times.

Required profile

• Legible handwriting and proficient typing skills.
• Fluency in both Latin and English.
• Ability to remain neutral and not alter the student’s content.
• Strong discretion and respect for student privacy.
• Positive attitude toward equality and accessibility.
