Clinical Research Coordinator (Part‑time)

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a part‑time Clinical Research Coordinator to support the Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program. Working within the Children’s and Women’s Health Centre, you will help manage a portfolio of approximately 100 active clinical studies focused on pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of clinical research protocols, including participant scheduling, consent processes, and sample collection.
• Maintain accurate and confidential study documentation in compliance with university, institutional, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the Clinical Trials Unit Manager to ensure protocol adherence and timely data entry.
• Assist the Principal Investigator and research team with regulatory submissions, progress reports, and monitoring visits.
• Support the Precision Oncology for Young People (PROFYLE) initiative by tracking study milestones and outcomes.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in health sciences, nursing, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain high ethical standards.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Experience in a clinical research environment, preferably within oncology or hematology.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
• Proficiency in electronic data capture systems and basic computer applications.
