About the role
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will manage and execute research activities for multiple clinical studies at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) located in St. Paul’s Hospital, downtown Vancouver. The CRC ensures study protocols are followed, participants are enrolled, biological samples are collected, and relevant clinical and administrative data are captured securely and ethically.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise day‑to‑day activities of HLI clinical research projects, including participant screening, enrollment, visit scheduling, data collection, data entry, and honorarium processing.
- Collect and process biological material such as mouthwash, swabs, sputum, urine, and, when certified, blood samples.
- Develop work priorities, set timelines, and monitor progress to meet research objectives and deadlines.
- Liaise with physicians, nurses, technicians, and hospital departments (laboratories, radiology, outpatient services) to coordinate study operations.
- Provide supervision and guidance to research assistants and student staff as needed.
Required profile
- Experience coordinating clinical research studies in a hospital or academic setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of privacy, security, and ethical conduct.
Required skills
- Biological sample collection (mouthwash, swabs, sputum, urine, blood with accredited certification).
- Clinical data acquisition and management.
- Accurate data entry and database handling.
- Participant screening and enrollment procedures.
- Study visit scheduling and coordination.
