Client Services Assistant – InReach (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Client Services Assistant – InReach works at the main entrance reception desk of the Community Healthcaring KW Health Centre. As the first point of contact, you will welcome visitors, provide administrative and navigational support, and help ensure accessible, responsive care for a diverse client population.

Key responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment, offering beverages and snacks as appropriate.
• Check clients in using electronic medical and dental records, schedule appointments, and update demographic information.
• Answer incoming calls, retrieve voicemails, and direct callers to the appropriate staff.
• Perform routine administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and handling mail.
• Assist clients with information about Health Centre programs, community services, and social prescribing pathways.
• Support individuals experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, mental health or addiction concerns, including crisis intervention.
• Carry out opening and closing procedures, maintain safety and confidentiality, and participate in team meetings and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in health administration, healthcare or social services.
• At least two years of office experience, preferably in a medical or social‑service setting.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations, including those facing homelessness or mental‑health challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using electronic health‑record systems and related databases.
