Casual Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Seniors Living

About the role

S&R Seniors Living is hiring a casual Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for its Seniors Living villages in Kitchener. The role sits inside a resident's home, where staff work with a multidisciplinary team to support the physical and emotional well-being of residents and their families. The position is listed as part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a multidisciplinary team (dietary personnel, nurse practitioners, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists) to assess new residents
• Lead the PSW team in providing care to residents
• Take glucose readings during meal time and direct PSWs to help queue residents and support them
• Distribute medication to residents and take vitals
• Talk with residents and their families about care plans and update care plans every six months or whenever a resident's condition changes
• Chart resident care, treatments and changes in condition to support continuity of care
• Work with the Home and Community Care association to support residents

Required profile

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
