About the role

Pear Tree School is seeking a full‑time Classroom Teacher to lead a combined‑grade classroom for the 2026‑27 school year. You will deliver a high‑quality, theme‑based curriculum (the Pear Tree Method) and create a warm, structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the provided thematic curriculum with strong instruction and differentiation.
• Design supporting materials such as practice tasks, homework, assessments, rubrics, and exemplars.
• Maintain consistent classroom routines and a positive culture.
• Collaborate with a partner teacher for team planning and peer support.
• Engage parents through regular communication and partnership.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in education (M.Ed. or equivalent) – non‑negotiable.
• Eligibility for British Columbia teacher certification and legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Commitment to a career‑long role, not a short‑term stopover.

Required skills

• Proficiency in delivering thematic, inquiry‑driven instruction.
• Ability to create and use assessment tools, rubrics, and exemplars.
• Strong classroom management and differentiation techniques.
