Civil Engineer – Regulated Services for NL Hydro

About the role

Artelia Canada is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Regulated Engineering Services team supporting NL Hydro. The role involves delivering capital projects for NL Hydro assets across Newfoundland, from concept through to final design and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete civil engineering designs from conceptual studies to detailed final design.
• Prepare budget estimates, work orders, material and equipment orders, and contract documents.
• Evaluate and recommend contract awards and manage construction activities for assigned projects.
• Review and support capital budget applications, coordinating with multi‑discipline teams to produce technical justifications.
• Perform estimates and technical analyses for regulated infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 5 years of post‑graduation experience in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer membership with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
• Willingness to travel approximately 4–6 weeks per year.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multi‑discipline team.
