City Dispatch Coordinator

About the role

The City Dispatch Coordinator ensures that all pickups and deliveries within the Greater Montreal area are scheduled and executed efficiently and cost‑effectively. This position balances profitability with strict service standards while adhering to legal and company guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate terminal pickups and deliveries across the city.
• Verify equipment and driver availability, including start times.
• Communicate with customers, drivers, central dispatch, and the Terminal Manager.
• Supervise city drivers and 23 brokers, providing recaps and follow‑ups on shipments.
• Book delivery appointments and manage driver payroll.
• Identify and implement process improvements as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Thorough knowledge of the local city area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good organization, time‑management, and math aptitude.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Fluent in both French and English (verbal and written).
• Computer proficiency; experience with LTL 400 considered an asset.
