Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

About the role

The BC First Nations Justice Council is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and advance its mission of transforming justice for Indigenous peoples in British Columbia. Reporting to the Justice Council, the CEO will act as the senior ambassador, building respectful relationships with First Nations, partners, funders and governments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement short‑ and long‑term strategic and tactical plans aligned with the Council’s goals.
• Report regularly to the Justice Council on progress toward strategic and operational objectives.
• Provide culturally appropriate, healing‑centered leadership to direct reports and staff.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with funders, partners, and governmental bodies.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure seamless internal operations while leading external engagement.
• Champion trauma‑informed practices, emotional intelligence, and accountability throughout the organization.
