Senior Manager, People Operations & Total Rewards

About the role

Safe Software is seeking a Senior Manager, People Operations & Total Rewards to lead compensation philosophy, total rewards, people operations, HR systems and AI enablement across the organization. This role will shape the compensation framework and people infrastructure as the company scales toward $250M ARR.

Key responsibilities

• Own and define the compensation philosophy and architecture, including market positioning, pay ranges and geographic strategy.
• Build and maintain job architecture, leveling, banding and the compensation cycle (merit, profit sharing, variable pay, commissions) end‑to‑end.
• Design and execute the total rewards strategy, including benefits plan design, vendor selection and multi‑country rollout.
• Serve as the HRIS source of truth, ensuring data integrity, workflow automation and integrations with payroll and benefits.
• Lead AI enablement for People & Culture, piloting tools for compensation modeling and operational workflows.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Total Rewards or Compensation with ownership of People Operations or HRIS.
• Proven track record building or overhauling job architecture, leveling frameworks and running full compensation review cycles.
• Experience in a high‑growth, PE‑backed SaaS environment (>$100M ARR) is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of compensation philosophy, pay architecture and variable pay design.
• Expertise with HRIS platforms, data integrity, workflow automation and integrations.
• People analytics skills (comp equity, pay bands, attrition, calibration).
• Hands‑on experience building AI‑driven HR workflows.
