Captain – 60T Master (Passenger Transfer Vessel)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Captain to operate a passenger transfer vessel in Howe Sound, BC. The role focuses on safe personnel movement, emergency response, and compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the vessel safely in accordance with Transport Canada and CSA regulations.
• Maintain efficient fuel and supply usage while minimizing waste.
• Ensure compliance with client project rules and company SOPs.
• Maintain required inventory of fuel and ship spares.
• Conduct pre‑departure checks and regular inspections.
• Prepare daily reports on fuel, labour, damage and incidents for client billing.
• Complete handover logs and coordinate vessel handover with incoming crew.
• Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance and ensure vessel safety, health and welfare of crew and passengers.
• Maintain appropriate crew levels and conduct performance reviews.
• Mentor crew members and promote a positive team environment.

Required profile

• Three years of relevant maritime experience (preferred).
• Valid Transport Canada <60T Certificate of Competency (60T Limited Masters certificate).
• Valid Seafarers Medical certificate.
• MED A2 / MED A3 and ROC‑MC certifications.
• Bridge watch rating, SVMO and simulated electronic navigation qualifications.
