Captain – 150T Master (Passenger Transfer Vessel)

About the role

Bridgemans Services Group is seeking an experienced Captain to operate a passenger‑transfer vessel in Howe Sound, BC. The role involves safe crew and passenger transport, emergency response, and compliance with all maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the vessel safely in accordance with Transport Canada and CSA regulations.
• Manage fuel and supply efficiency to minimise waste.
• Maintain compliance with client project rules and company policies.
• Conduct pre‑departure checks, inspections and ensure required inventory of fuel and spares.
• Prepare daily reports on fuel usage, labour, damages and incidents.
• Complete handover logs and coordinate shift changes with incoming crew.
• Oversee routine maintenance and ensure vessel readiness.
• Safeguard the health, safety and welfare of crew and passengers.
• Maintain appropriate crew levels and conduct performance reviews.
• Mentor crew members and promote a positive team environment.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of relevant marine experience (preferred).
• Valid Transport Canada 150T Certificate of Competency.
• Valid Seafarer’s Medical Certificate.
• Valid MED or STCW Marine Advanced First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
