Canola Seed Production Summer Associate

About the role

The Canola Seed Production Summer Associate will join BASF Agricultural Solutions' Seed Production team for a 4‑6 month summer contract. Working directly in the field, you will support growers in producing certified InVigor canola seed while gaining hands‑on agronomic experience.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with growers in assigned regions to produce InVigor canola seed for market, ensuring compliance with certification standards.
• Manage the entire seed production cycle from seeding to harvest, including field preparation, planting, and post‑harvest handling.
• Monitor crop health throughout the growing season, identifying and reporting any signs of disease, pest pressure, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Scout fields regularly for weeds, diseases, and insects, and implement appropriate control measures under agronomist guidance.
• Maintain strong relationships with growers, providing timely agronomic advice and support to meet certified seed production requirements.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field, with relevant coursework or experience in seed production.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results in field monitoring and data collection.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with growers and internal teams.
