Calibration Technician

About the role

JM Test is seeking a Calibration Technician to join its expanding team of experts across three state‑of‑the‑art calibration labs and two mobile labs in Canada. The role involves delivering high‑quality calibration, troubleshooting, and repair services for a wide range of electrical, temperature, pressure, torque, dimensional and high‑voltage equipment while maintaining fast turnaround times and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, electrical, torque and dimensional tools.
• Create and verify calibration data sheets to meet technical specifications.
• Maintain quick turnaround on tasks to meet customer delivery expectations.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Perform onsite calibrations, troubleshooting and repairs on customer equipment.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented, organized professional with experience in instrumentation, mechanics, calibration or electronics repair.
• Strong practical understanding of electronics and mechanics with solid mathematical skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and adapt to multi‑project settings.
• Proficient with computer software, especially Microsoft Office, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
• Proactive, independent thinker with a problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with Fluke meters, Megger insulation testers, AEMC ductors, Crystal pressure gauges, BW gas detectors.
• Familiarity with Proto torque wrenches, Omicron relay testers, Vanguard CT testers, HV Inc hi‑pots.
• Use of digital calipers, gauge blocks and related dimensional measurement tools.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
