Cafe Service Supervisor

About the role

As a Cafe Service Supervisor at The Spoke, you will help ensure high-quality beverages and food are prepared and served efficiently while maintaining accuracy, consistency, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. You will lead the cafe during your shift, supporting baristas and the management team, especially during high‑volume periods.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction, support, and supervision to part‑time student employees during shifts.
• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, cold drinks and food items according to recipes, handling modifications and allergen requests.
• Maintain a fully stocked, organized, and clean cafe, following food safety, sanitation, and FIFO procedures.
• Operate cafe equipment (espresso machines, grinders, POS) and monitor product freshness and waste.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and communicate operational concerns to management.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a cafe, coffee shop, restaurant or customer‑service food environment (2 years preferred).
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
• Strong communication, organization, customer service and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organized and professional in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
