Business Manager

About the role

House of ABY is expanding its Toronto operations and seeks a Business Manager to drive growth across its energy‑focused engineering consulting business. You will act as an intrapreneur, combining business development, talent management, and unit profitability responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new energy‑sector clients, understand their challenges and propose suitable engineering profiles.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships to ensure follow‑up and long‑term retention.
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to source and recruit top engineering talent.
• Lead a team of consultants, providing career coaching, annual reviews, and training opportunities.
• Develop and execute a profitability strategy for your Business Unit, monitoring performance indicators and adjusting tactics as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an engineering school, business school, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering consulting or a related technical services environment.
• Strong interest in technological innovation and the ability to translate technical expertise into business value.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of building client relationships.
