Business Consultant – Intermediate (Digital Regulatory Assurance)

About the role

The client is seeking a Business Consultant to support the development and continuous improvement of the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) for Environment and Protected Areas. This hybrid position is based in Alberta, primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings, and operates in a fast‑paced project environment.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate requirements‑gathering sessions for DRAS enhancements.
• Analyze, document, and manage business and system requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams on application design and implementation.
• Support defect analysis, system enhancements, and operational improvements.
• Prepare project documentation such as status reports, meeting minutes, change requests, and business requirement documents.
• Review test strategies, test plans, and test cases; assist with testing activities.
• Track project status, issues, risks, and changes; support issue analysis and resolution.
• Coordinate communication and training needs for continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Obtain stakeholder approvals/sign‑offs on deliverables and participate in project meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in business writing, communication, and documentation.
• Proven experience with change management and cost‑benefit analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
• Strong knowledge of systems development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Demonstrated ability to work with both business and technical teams on IT system/application development and maintenance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience supporting testing, implementation, and project coordination/reporting.
