Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Bookkeeper to join ETOWN LOGISTICS INC. in Edmonton. The successful candidate will support the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions and maintaining the integrity of our accounting records. You will work closely with the accounting manager to ensure timely month‑end closing and support audit processes. The position is full‑time, on‑site, and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and prepare payroll cheques.
• Determine fixed assets and compute depreciation.
• Maintain financial records and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Update general ledgers and produce financial statements.
• Post journal entries and prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports.
• Prepare tax returns and trial balances.
• Reconcile accounts on a regular basis.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Prior experience in bookkeeping is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with manual bookkeeping methods.
• Experience using computerized bookkeeping systems.
