Board of Directors – Horizon or Vitalité Health Network

About the role

The Boards of Directors of Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network are seeking experienced governance leaders to provide strategic oversight and ensure high‑quality, accessible health services for New Brunswick residents. Board members work closely with executive leadership to shape long‑term vision, monitor performance, and represent community interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the health authority.
• Ensure accountability and high standards of service delivery.
• Monitor financial performance, risk management and compliance.
• Contribute to policy development on digital transformation, AI, research, and innovation.
• Advise on communications, public affairs, government relations and stakeholder engagement.
• Support human‑resource and organizational leadership initiatives.
• Participate in board meetings and committees as required.

Required profile

• Significant prior board or governance experience, preferably in large, complex or public‑sector organizations.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, financial literacy and oversight capability.
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment and a reputation for integrity.
• Commitment to public service and improving health outcomes.
• For Vitalité Health Network, fluency in French is mandatory.
