Automotive Technician – Engine & Fuel Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician specialized in engine and fuel systems to service commercial transport trucks and related vehicles at our garage in Paradise Hill, SK. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and testing a wide range of mechanical and electronic components to ensure vehicles meet manufacturer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems and automotive systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose mechanical units, engines in operation, and fuel/emission systems to locate faults.
• Perform road tests and verify repairs against manufacturer specifications.
• Estimate parts and labour costs and complete work orders and service reports.
• Coach apprentices and provide customer service, advising on repairs and future maintenance.

Required profile

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of experience working on diesel engines, transmissions, and fuel systems.
• Valid Class 3 or D driver’s licence, WHMIS certification, and Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification.
• Bondable with a clean driving record and ability to work in a dusty, noisy garage environment.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Engine repair and overhaul (including diesel engines).
• Fuel and emission system diagnostics and repair.
• Transmission (automatic and standard) servicing.
• Brake, steering, suspension and alignment work.
• Electrical and electronic system troubleshooting.
• HVAC system maintenance.
• Use of diagnostic equipment and road‑testing procedures.
• Estimating parts and labour costs.
