Automotive Service Technician

About the role

Pitlane Automotive Ltd is looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join its garage workshop in Goderich. The role involves adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts and components on commercial transport trucks and a wide range of automotive systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose mechanical and electronic units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of engines, transmissions, brake, suspension, HVAC, and other systems.
• Perform road tests and verify that repaired systems meet manufacturer specifications.
• Estimate parts and labour costs, complete work orders, and document repairs.
• Provide customer service by explaining work performed and advising on future maintenance.

Required profile

• 2 to less than 3 years of hands‑on experience with commercial trucks and automotive systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a dusty, hot, noisy garage environment and stand for extended periods.
• Own tools, steel‑toed safety boots, and a valid driver’s licence (manual transmission).
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good communication skills.
