Project Engineer - Capital Projects

About the role

Agropur is looking for a Project Engineer for its Beauceville plant in Quebec. Reporting to the regional engineering manager, the engineer develops, executes and monitors major investment projects, which can run into several million dollars, and optimizes manufacturing processes to improve operational performance. The role is primarily based at the Beauceville plant but may require work at other regional plants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, analyze and evaluate investment requests, taking into account health and safety, quality, technical aspects, operations, human resources and financial impact.
• Perform technical and financial monitoring of projects, prepare technical specifications, plans and cost estimates, and manage tenders and contract issuance with the strategic purchasing department.
• Coordinate equipment installation and commissioning and manage the project budget.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of internal and external resources and act as a technical advisor to other engineers and plants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial or automation engineering; member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
• 7-10 years of engineering and project experience.
• Proven track record of implementing multidisciplinary capital projects in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Expertise in designing and installing processes in the food and beverage sector; dairy sector experience is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English; French is required for Quebec positions.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD.
