Associate Lawyer, Litigation

About the role

Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join its nationally recognised Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Toronto. The role offers exposure to high‑profile, complex matters across multiple practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including class actions, commercial, civil, environmental and construction disputes.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written advocacy materials such as pleadings, motions, factums and other court documents.
• Assist with discoveries, hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
• Collaborate with partners and associates across various practice groups and industry sectors.
• Participate in strategic case planning and provide practical legal advice to clients.
• Manage day‑to‑day file responsibilities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and client service.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of a Canadian Law Society.
• Approximately 2–4 years of post‑call experience (2022–2024 calls preferred).
• Experience gained at a leading law firm with exposure to litigation matters.
• Strong academic credentials and demonstrated advocacy skills.
• Excellent legal research, writing and drafting abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
