Associate Lawyer – Estate Litigation

About the role

Arkin Furrow Estate Law LLP is seeking a motivated associate with up to one year of experience to join its boutique estate litigation practice in downtown Toronto. This junior position offers the opportunity to develop a specialised practice in wills, trusts and estates while working alongside experienced litigators.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers in managing estate litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Prepare case summaries, client correspondence, and briefing materials.
• Participate in client meetings, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
• Maintain a billable target of approximately 1,200 hours per year.

Required profile

• Bar admission (new call) with up to one year of post‑call experience.
• Strong work ethic, enthusiasm for advocacy, and a genuine passion for estate law.
• Excellent written communication and a desire to grow within a boutique practice.
• Commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and the firm’s equity, diversity and inclusion values.
