Assistant/Associate Professor – Nursing (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position. The successful candidate will join a globally recognised faculty, primarily teaching at the Surrey campus and contributing to the growth of primary health‑care nursing education.

Key responsibilities

• Teach core and elective courses in the Nurse Practitioner program and other graduate courses.
• Supervise Masters and PhD students, guiding their research projects.
• Develop an independent research program focused on advanced practice nursing, primary health care, or NP practice models.
• Maintain active Nurse Practitioner licensure by completing required practice hours.
• Contribute to departmental service, university committees, and professional organizations.

Required profile

• PhD in nursing or a related discipline.
• Eligibility for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Demonstrated or strong potential for excellence in research and teaching.
• Commitment to health equity, social justice, and community engagement.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Experience in curriculum development and graduate supervision.
• Ability to secure research funding and publish scholarly work.
