Assistant Store Manager

About the role

Kal Tire is opening a new location in Vernon, BC in September 2026 and is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations. You will work side‑by‑side with the Store Manager, ensuring safety, service quality, and results while developing a motivated team.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily store operations, maintaining safety, service standards, and efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and schedule team members; provide training and performance feedback.
• Set clear expectations on the floor and enforce consistent work practices.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
• Manage inventory, cash handling, and basic financial reporting.
• Execute store plans, targets, and operational priorities.
• Step in at the front counter to support customer service when needed.
• Address issues promptly using sound judgment.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in retail or a service environment.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a focus on accountability.
• Comfortable balancing hands‑on work with team management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with staff and customers.
• Organized, able to manage competing priorities, and committed to a safe work environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to lift 30–50 lb regularly.
