Assistant Project Manager

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager supports the delivery of construction projects by coordinating teams, managing schedules, budgets, and documentation. This role works closely with Project Coordinators, Site Supervisors, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing all project facets, including coordination of Project Coordinators, Site Supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
• Support overall project planning, time management, budgeting, and communication.
• Ensure completion of administrative documentation for clients, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with quality control, risk assessments, and development of detailed project plans.
• Track change orders, daily logs, and progress reports; ensure material and equipment scheduling.
• Coordinate manpower and material purchases to stay within schedule and budget.
• Prepare and submit invoicing, approve supplier and subcontractor invoices, and communicate invoicing instructions to accounting.
• Provide daily and weekly reports, manage punch lists, and follow up on issues with clear written communication.
• Train and mentor team members, estimators, and project coordinators.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or commercial construction.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
