Assistant Professor – Prosthodontics (Full‑time)

About the role

The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics. The position is based in the Division of Prosthodontics, Department of Oral Health Sciences, Vancouver campus. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic community, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and establish an independent research programme that advances oral health in British Columbia.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students in the DMD, BSc Dental Hygiene, and graduate programmes (Diploma in Prosthodontics, MSc, PhD).
• Develop and maintain a robust research agenda in prosthodontics, supervise graduate students, and seek external funding.
• Provide clinical service and expertise within the university’s dental clinics.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service activities, including community outreach.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to foster interdisciplinary initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed postgraduate training in prosthodontics.
• Licensed (or eligible) with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals as a dental specialist in prosthodontics, or eligibility for specialty licensure.
• Demonstrated research excellence and a clear plan to contribute to the improvement of oral health.
• Commitment to teaching, service, and collaborative scholarship.
