Assistant Professor – Project & Construction Management

About the role

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Project and Construction Management, starting July 1 2027 (or a mutually agreed date). The role includes developing an internationally recognized research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students, and contributing to university and community service.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead an independent, externally funded research agenda in digital transformation, sustainable lifecycle management, or equitable civil infrastructure delivery.
• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and effectively supervise graduate research.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service activities.
• Engage with the broader professional and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC within five years of appointment.
• Demonstrated potential to secure external research funding.
• Evidence of high‑quality teaching and graduate supervision.
• Commitment to service, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous initiatives.
