Assistant Professor – Dental Geriatrics (Full‑time)

About the role

The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor in Dental Geriatrics within the Department of Oral Health Sciences. The tenure‑stream appointment will focus on teaching, research, and service to improve oral health outcomes for older adults.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate, pre‑doctoral and post‑doctoral dentistry courses.
• Develop and help launch a Fellowship program in Dental Geriatrics.
• Conduct and lead research projects aimed at improving oral health of older adults in British Columbia.
• Secure external research funding and contribute to the department’s research portfolio.
• Collaborate with DMD and graduate programs, faculty, staff and students across the university.

Required profile

• Completed MSc or PhD with a focus on Geriatrics.
• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and scholarly research.
• Research agenda that aligns with improving oral health of older adults.
• Clinical and hospital experience in geriatric dentistry is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Canadian citizens or permanent residents are given priority.
