Assistant Professor – Accounting (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University seeks an Assistant Professor in Accounting on a tenure‑track basis, starting August 1 2027. The appointment is open to candidates with a Ph.D. in Accounting or those completing their doctorate by December 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in financial accounting and management accounting.
• Develop and maintain a high‑impact research agenda leading to publications in top accounting journals.
• Supervise and mentor doctoral students and contribute to graduate program activities.
• Participate in faculty and area administration, including curriculum development and committee work.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accounting (or near completion) with evidence of effective teaching.
• Record of peer‑reviewed publications in high‑quality journals and clear potential for future top‑tier research.
• Ability to teach in English; knowledge of French or willingness to learn French is desirable.
