Assistant Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in delivering high‑quality guest experiences at Milestones Grill + Bar in Whistler. This full‑time, on‑site position oversees daily restaurant operations and helps maintain the brand’s standards of service and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise front‑of‑house staff and coordinate shift schedules.
• Ensure consistent, high‑quality guest experiences across all service areas.
• Maintain food and beverage standards and monitor health and safety compliance.
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, and basic reporting.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Handle cash, POS transactions, and related financial procedures.
• Support local marketing initiatives and promotional activities.

Required profile

• Experience in restaurant or hospitality management with strong team‑leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in guest service, conflict resolution, and relationship building.
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, quality standards, and basic inventory control.
• Understanding of workplace safety, health regulations, and local food‑handling requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfort with cash handling, POS systems, and simple administrative tasks.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred; post‑secondary education in hospitality or business is an asset.
• Availability to work flexible evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
