Assistant Manager, Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily operations of a busy restaurant. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to ensure smooth service, profitability, and a high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze budgets and implement strategies to boost profits.
• Monitor daily operations, staff performance, and customer service.
• Plan and organize daily tasks, set work schedules, and supervise a team of 5‑10 employees.
• Train and evaluate staff, conduct performance reviews, and handle hiring needs.
• Manage cash handling, balance sheets, and financial reports.
• Control inventory, order supplies, and ensure health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Negotiate catering contracts and support marketing initiatives.
• Address customer complaints and maintain service standards.

Required profile

• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management.
• Ability to work 30‑40 hours per week, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a client‑focused attitude.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Safe Food Handling certification.
• Proficiency with electronic cash registers and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.
• General computer and spreadsheet knowledge.
