Assistant Manager – Food Services

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our food services outlet at Vancouver International Airport. You will work closely with the manager to ensure profitability, high‑quality service, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and develop budgets for food, ingredients, supplies, and labour costs.
• Monitor daily revenues, labour expenses and overall profitability.
• Plan, organize and evaluate daily restaurant operations.
• Recruit, schedule, supervise, train and review staff performance.
• Determine service offerings, implement operational procedures and conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain inventory, cost products and services, and ensure health‑safety regulations are followed.
• Negotiate catering contracts and support marketing initiatives.
• Address customer complaints, provide excellent service and manage special events.

Required profile

• College, CEGEP or comparable certificate/diploma (3 months to < 1 year).
• 2–3 years of experience in food‑service or restaurant management.
• Availability for flexible hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to support newcomers and refugees through mentorship and integration programs.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
