Assistant Controller

About the role

Treewalk is seeking an Assistant Controller to support its portfolio of public‑company clients. This position is ideal for professionals coming from private‑enterprise assurance groups who want to deepen their experience in public‑company financial reporting and eventually move toward a Controller role.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review various working papers for client engagements.
• Oversee and review full‑cycle accounting processes.
• Manage ad‑hoc projects tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Take ownership of client files across diverse industries such as e‑commerce, retail, manufacturing, cannabis, mining, and biotechnology.

Required profile

• Background in private‑enterprise assurance or similar accounting functions.
• Strong desire to gain public‑company financial reporting experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
• Commitment to professional growth without the expectation of 60+ hour weeks.
