Art Director

About the role

LG2 Toronto is seeking a mid‑level Art Director to lead visual storytelling for a diverse client portfolio, including national brands. The role works closely with a copywriter and reports to creative leadership, translating strategy into compelling multi‑platform executions.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to LG2’s creative excellence by participating in every stage of the process, from brief to final presentation and production follow‑up.
• Generate big, boundary‑pushing ideas that deliver impactful and memorable concepts for brands.
• Develop visual approaches, advertising layouts, and storyboards, providing artistic direction for photography, illustration, and motion design.
• Lead and oversee production autonomously to ensure world‑class visual craft and impeccable final output.
• Present work convincingly, reflecting strategic thoughtfulness and relevance.
• Collaborate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor junior creatives, sharing knowledge and supervising their growth.
• Support new‑business initiatives by contributing to pitches and uncovering creative opportunities.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in advertising.
• Proven design and art‑direction experience for mid‑ to large‑scale multi‑platform campaigns.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and digital design tools such as Sketch or equivalent.
• Exceptional aesthetic sense with meticulous attention to typography, layout, color systems, and kerning.
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to solve complex communication challenges with innovative solutions.
