Airworthiness Coordinator

About the role

The Airworthiness Coordinator will lead the Design Approval Organization (DAO) and ensure engineering compliance for completions, STC developments, and continued airworthiness at Airbus Helicopters Canada. This senior position works closely with TCCA and internal teams to deliver certified products on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate certification activities for individual projects from application to approval, following DAPM and engineering procedures.
• Define, verify, and validate documentation required to demonstrate compliance with certification requirements.
• Determine applicable airworthiness standards, establish basis of certification, and define means of compliance.
• Serve as the primary liaison with TCCA regional certification engineers for project-specific matters.
• Create and maintain comprehensive certification project files.
• Monitor continued airworthiness of products holding DAO certificates and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Design Approval Procedures Manual and related engineering procedures.
• Lead technical audits to verify compliance with DAO procedures and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with TCCA and foreign airworthiness regulations.
• Assist in nominating candidates for Designated Engineer positions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s degree is an asset).
• Professional Engineer licence or eligibility (asset).
• Transport Canada delegation or eligibility (asset).
• Minimum 7 years of technical, engineering or program experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of experience in Type Certificate or Supplemental Type Certificate development.
• Recent direct experience working with TCCA on similar projects.
• Experience as Head of DAO or TCCA delegate is a plus.
