About the role
The Department of Radiology at Shared Health’s Health Sciences Centre is seeking a dedicated Administrative Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Section Head, Manager of Radiology Support Services, and the radiology team. This full‑time, onsite position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high‑volume diagnostic imaging environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative assistance to the Section Head, Manager, and staff, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Prepare and type a variety of documents such as presentations, medical papers, and forms.
- Act as the primary receptionist, handling calls, messages, and general inquiries.
- Process departmental payroll and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Maintain departmental files, monitor supply levels, and ensure a well‑organized workspace.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of related secretarial experience.
- High school diploma meeting Manitoba standards and completion of a recognized secretarial training program.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity to work both independently and within a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment.
Required skills
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with dictation equipment preferred.
