Accounting Clerk

About the role

As the Accounting Clerk, you’ll run our AP/AR processes and collaborate with Customer Support and Operations to help Cardata move faster, grow stronger, and scale with clarity. This hands‑on position focuses on maintaining resilient processes that simplify work and enable every team member to thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the accounts receivable process: generate invoices, record payments, maintain accurate customer records, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Own the accounts payable process: review and process vendor invoices, ensure proper GL coding and approvals, and facilitate vendor payments.
• Process, collect, and track customer payments, reconcile funds for reimbursement, and ensure payment accuracy.
• Support period‑close activities, including credit‑card and bank reconciliations, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Partner with Operations and Customer Success by preparing and sharing essential financial information to aid decision‑making.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc financial analysis as needed.

Required profile

• Alignment with Cardata’s core values.
• 2–3 years of experience in an accounting capacity.
• University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Motivated, high initiative, and able to work autonomously.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Process‑oriented with a focus on efficiency and clean workflows.
• Adaptable to evolving systems, procedures, and accounting tools.
• Effective prioritisation and ability to meet deadlines.
• Team player with a customer‑service mindset.
• Based in Canada and available to work standard Eastern Standard Time business hours.
