Accounting Analyst

About the role

The Accounting Analyst will support the Controller of LBI Canada Inc. by ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory and cost of goods across multiple plants and distribution centers. The role is central to the monthly and annual close processes and offers opportunities to improve and automate financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze and record monthly journal entries, including accruals, adjustments and reallocations.
• Perform account reconciliations, intercompany transactions and inventory reconciliations for various locations.
• Analyze cost of goods, validate raw material costs and record inventory‑related journal entries.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements and conduct sales, SG&A and production variance analyses.
• Support annual inventory counts, obsolescence reviews and inventory planning.
• Monitor order receipts, pricing and items in transit; prepare government tax and payroll remittances.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, respond to cost validation requests and assist with budgeting activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA candidate is an asset.
• 3‑5 years of experience in inventory and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Cognos and Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, linking).
• Strong knowledge of general‑ledger processes and intercompany transactions.
• Competence with Microsoft Office suite.
