Accountant – Fixed-Term (18 months) – Toronto

About the role

UNICEF Canada is seeking a skilled Accountant to support day‑to‑day financial operations on a fixed‑term basis. Working under the Senior Manager, Finance, you will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data while contributing to the organization’s mission to improve children’s lives worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including invoice coding review and supporting documentation verification.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and cash‑related journal entries.
• Post revenue transactions and maintain general ledger and sub‑ledger activity.
• Support month‑end close processes and routine financial reporting.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies, preparing reconciliations, and maintaining vendor records.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in financial reporting, compliance, and analysis.
• Experience with core accounting tasks such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior accounting staff.
