Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax

About the role

Orbit Accountants is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join its growing team. You will work with small and medium‑sized businesses, delivering accurate financial statements, tax filings and insightful analysis to support their growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and full financial statements.
• Prepare Canadian income tax returns and GST/HST filings.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis projects.
• Prepare audit files and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Support ad‑hoc client deliverables and other finance‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Business undergraduate degree or related field.
• Proactive, team‑oriented mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• QuickBooks or Xero accounting software.
