Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an Accountant to support financial reporting, tax compliance and month‑end close across multiple entities. The role will ensure accurate journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations and provide insights for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications and adjustments across multiple entities.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis, investigating and resolving variances.
• Execute and review P&L and balance‑sheet reclassifications to align with reporting requirements.
• Analyze financial results and deliver insights for management reporting.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports highlighting key variances, trends and areas of attention.
• Calculate, prepare and file indirect taxes (GST/HST, sales taxes) and manage related journal entries and payments.
• Reconcile tax accounts and support internal and external tax audits.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (FP&A, Payroll, Trade, Shared Services, Operations) to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with internal controls and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Accurate and timely completion of month‑end close activities.
• High‑quality balance‑sheet reconciliations with minimal aging items.
• Strong collaboration with business partners to resolve financial issues.
• Continuous identification of opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Experience in healthcare or related industries is a plus.

Required skills

• SAP experience.
• Proficiency with Power BI and OneStream.
